From Withings: 36mm and 40mm are referring to the size of the face of the watch, including the glass and the bezel. The 36mm Steel HR uses a 18mm wide wristband, which is included with the watch. If you would like to look into other bands from Nokia or a third party, be sure to look for an 18mm size band so it fits. The 40mm Steel HR uses a 20mm wide wristband.
