A Yes. i have an iPhone XR and it works just fine with it. The only thing that doesn't work for Apple that Garmin says is a feature is the ability to respond to text messages from the watch. This is called out in several customer reviews, but for me is not a deal breaker since I don't plan on texting from my watch.

A Yes, the vivoactive 3 is compatible with 20 mm wide, standard, quick-release bands. A It seems very stable with my Samsung S7. As soon as I get within about 10 feet, it connects automatically. I've been upstairs in my house and gotten a text that shows up on my watch, even when the phone is downstairs. That's more useful than I thought it could be, even though it doesn't have enough space to show more than the sender and the first few words, because I can know whether it's something I need to reply to quickly or later. It gives me a few stock responses that I can choose on the watch for a quick reply.

A The font size within the different apps is about the same as the Vivoactive HR. The watch faces (what you'd see regularly) can be customized to be much much larger. I have a very simple watch face on right now that has massive digits that I can literally see from across the room. If you are in the stock running, hiking, walking or any other app, they follow Garmin's set fonts. You can enlarge those by selecting fewer fields to display at the same time. You can set the screen to show 1 field at a time in larger font, and have it cycle automatically between 3 or 4 different fields. That way you get the largest font possible. This is not specific to the vivoactive 3 however. You can setup your Vivoactive HR to do the same exact thing and show you 1 data field at a time in larger font.

A The watches arrive in varied state of charge. Mine arrived with just over 80% and it only took a few minutes to top it off. The watch is capable of charging from completely empty to completely full in about an hour or a little longer from almost any USB power source.

A I had a Garmin Approach X40 which is a dedicated unit for golf. Vivoactive 3 is comparable to X40 or in some way better because of the larger screen. However, the battery doesn't seem to last 13 hours as claimed. At the end of 18 holes (5 hours), I was down to about 40% (started the round with 100% charged). X40 comes loaded with thousands of courses worldwide whereas, with Vivoactive, you have to download them ahead of time.

A I have discovered the watch isn’t very durable in the least. I love the watch when I first started using it. But, three months of use the screen started to crack and developed into a spider web crack across the whole face and the watch wouldn’t respond to any of the touch commands. When I bought the watch I also purchased screen protectors and applied one. I thought the cracks were in the screen protector until I removed it this morning. I discovered the cracks were in the face screen and more of them I couldn’t see through the protector.I don’t know when the damage occurred, I can’t remember hitting the watch hard enough to cause the damage. The repair cost is $110.00 and S&H both ways. For around $80.00 more I could buy a brand new watch. I’m wearing my old Timex that 10 year old and I’m filing the new Garmin in the trash.

A Yes, but as all other iltimetres it shows correct good count if you do not use elevator, in that case it can show climbed stairs, when you used elevator, which is wrong.
