You can connect a smartwatch, including the Apple Watch 5, for open water swims but not for pool swims. Calories (as well as many other metrics) can be recorded and displayed by the goggles alone in a pool. If you wish to see heart rate in the pool, you can connect a Polar OH1/OH1 + in the mounting clip we provide for the goggles strap.answered on 2020-09-04 00:00:00
